Before starting, most students want to know one thing: how much do online Arabic lessons cost, and is it cheaper to study in a group? This guide explains our prices, how to estimate the total cost of a level and how payment works.
All prices are in US dollars. The same prices apply to Arabic, Qur’an and Islamic studies lessons.
Online Arabic lessons cost per hour
| Option | Who it is for | Price per hour |
|---|---|---|
| Private lessons | One student (adult or child) alone with the teacher | $8 (≈ £6.10) |
| Small group | 2 or 3 students | $4 (≈ £3.10) |
| Group | 4 or 5 students | $2.50 (≈ £1.90) |
Prices in pounds are approximate. The current prices are always on our fees page.
Families pay once
The private rate also applies when several members of the same family study together in the same class. In that case the fee is paid only once, at the private rate. For parents with two or three children at the same level, this makes private lessons very affordable.
Private or group: which is better value?
Private lessons give you the teacher’s full attention, and the lesson plan can be adjusted if needed (with 15 days’ notice and the teacher’s availability). Lessons can also be rescheduled with at least 2 hours’ notice, within the limits in our terms.
Group classes cost much less per hour, and many students enjoy learning with others. The plan is fixed for the whole group, and a missed group lesson cannot be repeated.
If you want the fastest progress and flexibility, choose private. If budget matters most and you can commit to a fixed timetable, a group is excellent value.
How to estimate the cost of a full level
Multiply the hours of the level by the hourly price of the option you choose. Here are the approximate hours of our main levels:
| Level / book | Approx. hours |
|---|---|
| Timheedi Alif — Noor-ul-Bayan | 15–20 |
| Timheedi Ba — Kitab-ul-Assasi | About 20 |
| Each level of Al-Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk | 60–70 |
| Each level of the Imam Ibn Saud series | 30–40 |
| Tatbeeq an-Nahw (grammar) | About 60 |
| Tatbeeq as-Sarfi (morphology) / Al-Balagha Al-Wadiha (rhetoric) | About 30 each |
| Ta’leem Al-Arabia for children — Book 1 / 2 / 3 | About 75 / 45 / 60 |
For example, Noor-ul-Bayan in a private lesson costs about 15–20 hours × $8. See all programmes for details.
How payment works

- Group classes: you pay for the entire level.
- Private lessons: a minimum of 10 hours is paid in advance.
- Fees are not refundable, but if you need to stop, another student of the same level can take your place. If Midad cannot hold your classes, unused sessions are fully refunded.
