Arabic for Kids Online: How the Ta’leem Al-Arabia Series Works

Teaching Arabic to a child who doesn’t speak it at home is very different from teaching an adult. Children need colour, stories, songs and games — but they also need a clear structure so that they actually make progress. That is why our programme of Arabic for kids online is built on one complete series: Ta’leem Al-Arabia.

What is Ta’leem Al-Arabia?

Ta’leem Al-Arabia is an Arabic language series for children who are growing up not speaking Arabic as a first language. It was designed to cover everything from nursery through to year 12.

It covers all the basic elements of language — sounds, letters, words and phrases — and all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The series reflects Islamic culture and brings Islam into the lessons. It contains Qur’anic verses, ahadeeth and nasheeds, as well as puzzles that challenge the mind and create a joyful atmosphere for learning.

What does each level include?

  • A student book with the elements of language.
  • An activity book with useful exercises and questions covering the four skills and the topics studied in class.
  • An interactive electronic version of the book — beneficial and entertaining for the child both during and outside lessons.

How long does each book take?

BookChaptersApprox. lesson hours
Book 125About 75
Book 224About 45
Book 324About 60

These hours do not include the activity book, which is completed outside lesson time, or exam time. The second book takes fewer hours than the first because, once the first level is complete, Arabic becomes easier for the child.

Exams at the end of every book

One of the many advantages of this series is that each book ends with an exam to evaluate and assess what the child has understood and learnt. Parents get a clear picture of progress.

What will my child be able to do?

After completing the series your child will be able to speak and communicate in Arabic, and to read and listen while understanding what has been read and heard.

Arabic for kids online with specialist teachers

Midad has a specific curriculum for children, taught by teachers who specialise in teaching children. Lessons are live, with audio, video and a virtual whiteboard, so the teacher can show pictures, play sounds and keep the child engaged.

Children can attend lessons without a parent present. Like all our students, they are expected to follow good adab (manners) in class, and teachers write regular reports on the student portal so parents can follow their child’s studies and progress. Read more in our terms.

Fees for children’s lessons

  • Private lessons: $8/hour (approximately £6.10). Brothers and sisters studying in the same class pay only once.
  • Groups of 2–3 students: $4/hour.
  • Groups of 4–5 students: $2.50/hour.

See the fees page for details.
